"Digital Media‘s Future: Implications for the Global Communications Industry" was the theme of this year's Global Leadership Conference held in New York, 21-23 February and hosted by Makovsky. It attracted emerging leaders from IPREX partners from as far afield as Auckland and Prague.

Digital guru Sree Sreenivasan, Chief Digital Officer of Columbia University and Dean of the world-renowned Columbia Journalism School gave a welcoming talk which focused on the incorporation of cutting-edge tools to help communication professionals build a stronger social media presence.

Other sessions, featuring a cast of world-class experts, covered the use of social analytics to capture insights for communication programs; social activation for community building and engagement; and the fusion of journalism and digital culture.

Friday's final panel session "Technology is our Friend" discussed the rapidly evolving platforms and tools of digital media.

IPREX Chair of Marketing, Rashada Whitehead, led a lively session on Saturday drawing together the themes of the meeting and championing a wide-ranging debate on applying this new knowledge to client work and agency development. The event was hailed by delegates as a valuable investment by partners in the spread of digital best practices right across our network.
